Canisius takes volleyball title Niagara, D'Youville win at volleyball Meanwhile, Christine Halter had 20 kills and Diana Connell (North Tonawanda) added 15 kills and 24 digs to pace D'Youville to wins over Bard, 3-0, and Baptist Bible, 3-2. . . . Canisius' Leigh Launhardt (11 kills) and Mary Boller (10) couldn't stop a three-game sweep by Robert Morris. The Golden Griffins' Aislinn Hayes, Sarah Podlesh and Jess Stackhouse got seven digs each. . . . Daemen was swept in three games by St. Vincent and Notre Dame College. Heidi Memminger (Sweet Home) had 18 assists in the first match. Jen Brynarski (Sweet Home) got nine kills in the nightcap. . . . Laura Stranc (West Seneca West) tallied 31 assists and Desiree Miller (West Seneca East) made 11 kills in Hilbert's five-game loss to LaRoche. Brady / Klein Repeat as "A" Level
Champions for the 2005 Season The "A" Championships for the 2005 season was held on Saturday. The turnout was soft with only five teams participating. All teams advanced to the double elimination structured playoffs. Championship for the 2005 Season The "B" Championships for the 2005 season was held on Saturday. Championships were highly competitive. There were18 teams in the event spread over 4 pools. Eight teams advanced to the double elimination structured playoffs. Here are the results from the "B" Level Championships for the 2005 season: 1st Brady, Jon / Buggs, Kevin ***Note: This is Jon Brady's 1st "B" level win, while the victory marks Kevin Buggs 7th "B" victory and second seasonal championships. Bob Wood ends the season in first place among all active "B" level players with a 87.52% rating, while also leading all players with the best match record of 29 wins with only 4 losses for a win percentage of 87.88%. Level tournament for 2005 The 5th "A" Open Level event of the 2005 season was
held at Mickey Rats on the beach in Angola, New York with temperatures in the
mid 80's. The turn out was small as a result of the "10 Ugly Men"
4-man event being held in Rochester. Here are the results from the 5th "A" Open Level tournament: ***Note: This is Jon Brady and Joe Klein's 6th "A" Open Level win together dating back to 2003. With his efforts on Saturday, Jon Brady and Joe Klein each earned their 7th win all time. Brady / Klein have been dominating at the "A" Open Level this season posting an 48-4 match play record over the past 6 tournaments going back to last season. They are currently 25-1 in match play this season. Brady / Klein have won this event over three consecutive years. Congratulations go out to Jon Brady and Joe Klein. tournament for 2005 The 4th "B" event of the SVS season was marred by rain and hot
temperatures. Despite a couple of rain delays, we managed to finish a very
competitive "B" event. There were19 teams
in the event spread over 4 pools. Eight teams advanced to the playoffs. Here are the results from the
fourth "B" Level tournament: ***Note: This is Garrett Ferguson and Bob Wood's second win this season. They over came a 5-1 deficit at the beginning of the finals and held off a late charge by Brady / Storey to win the event. Congratulations go out to Garrett Ferguson and Bob Wood. Level tournament for 2005 The fourth "A" Open Level event of the 2005 season was
held on a windy warm day at Mickey Rats on the Beach in Angola New York. The
field was smaller than normal due to Junior Olympic Club Nationals being held in
Kentucky. Temperatures in the high

Win the 3rd "B" Level tournament for 2005 On a hot June day with temperatures in the 90's, we had 17 teams
vying for a chance to win the 3rd "B" tournament of the 2005 season. Here are the results from the
third "B" Level tournament: ***Note: This is Greg Egrick and Todd Setter's first ever win. The two overcame several grueling games in a row on extremely hot sand, at times seemingly exhausted to advance to the finals. Once in the finals they seemed to gain strength as they stifled Ihle / Ihle who played very well all day. Jennings / Pennefather Win the third "A" Open
Level tournament for 2005 The third "A" Open Level event of the 2005 season was
one of the most competitive events in recent history with 15 teams registered. Temperatures
were in the low to mid 60's. Here are the results from the third "A" Open Level tournament: ***Note: This tournament had 12 games decided by 2 points, 3 in the playoffs alone. Of Jennings and Pennefather's three playoff games, they won 17-15 (Beiter / Gleason), 15-11 (Beiter / Higgins) and 16-14 (Ferguson / Telaak) respectively. There were two major upsets on the day with Hatten / Jansma taking down 2nd seeded Beiter / Higgins during pool play, while Ferguson / Telaak sent 1st seeded Brady / Klein home for the day ending their consecutive winning streak at 17 games. Waszak / Waszak Win the 2nd "B" Level tournament for 2005 There were twenty teams fighting to win the 2nd "B"
tournament of the 2005 season with temperatures in the low 90's. Six teams were
turned away after the maximum number of placing's were filled. Here are the results from the

the strongest of the season with 12 competing with temperatures in the high
70's. Here are the results from the second "A" Open Level tournament: ***Note: This is Jon Brady and Joe Klein's 5th "A" Open Level win together dating back to 2003. With his efforts on Saturday, Joe Klein earned his 6th win all time, while Jon Brady earned his 5th. Brady / Klein have been dominating at the "A" Open Level posting an 36-3 match play record over the past 5 tournaments going back to last season. They are currently 13-0 in match play this season. were cool, highs in the sixties with a strong breeze coming in off of Lake Erie.
