Gartley / Tilert Win the
2006 "B" Championships

The "B" Level
championships of the
2006 season was held on a day that seemed to rain non-stop. 10 teams
competing in this event which finished at nearly 3:30pm, in what was a long
tournament considering the number of teams participating. Temperatures were
warm all day. Here are the results from the "B"

***Note: This was Gartley and Tilert's first win together. Joe Tilert won
his 3rd seasonal Championship, winning back in 2001 (Daryl Connolly) and
2003 (Maureen Tilert).

Meyer / Norton Win 5th "B" Level tournament for
2006
Sunday August 7th, 10:45pm
The fifth "B" Level event of the
2006 season was held on one of the nicest days of the year. There were 15 teams
competing in this event which finished at nearly 4pm, in what was an
unusually long tournament. Temperatures were in the mid 80's and sunshine
and blue skies were enjoyed all day. Here are the results from the 5th "B"

***Note: This was Meyer and Norton's first win. Keller and Spatorico
suffered their first loss in pool play, managing to win 12 straight before
losing one. Their overall record is 13-4. Thom Burnett also had his best
finish since the "B" level Championships back in 1999 where he and
Dave Harting finished 2nd to Eric Fassel and Bill Littere.

Telaak / Wood Win 4th "B" Level tournament for
2006

The fourth "B" Level event of the
2006 season was an extremely moist outing as it rained throughout the whole
event only letting up late in the final match of the day. Turnout was low
because of the weather with several teams listed as no shows. Here are the results from the
fourth "B"

***Note: This was Wood and Telaak's first win as a team, with Wood's 3rd and
Telaak's 2nd overall at the "B" level. Bob Wood repeated as
champion for this event winning it in 2005 with Garrett Ferguson over Jon
Brady and Mike Storey. Jake and Kenny Waszak have a 17-2 game win/loss
record, with an impressive 12-0 record in pool play. Their only losses came
against Brady / Fladd in the semi-finals of the first event of the year and
Telaak / Wood in the finals of the fourth event of the season.

Funke Wins 2nd "A" Level tournament for
2006

The second "A" Level event of the
2006 season continued a slow beginning in this years "A" division. There were
blue skies and sunshine with warm temperatures. The event was played in a King
of the Beach format. Here are the results from the second "A"

***Note: Bowcock and Corby traveled down from London, Ontario to play
in this event. This marks their 1st win. The semi-final match between Tilert
/ Tilert and Keller / Spatorico was the longest in SVS history as Tilert /
Tilert won 22-20 in side out scoring. The previous "B" record for
the most points scored in one game goes all the way back to 1998 when Karen
Kait and Jim Zorn defeated Hollie Justinger and Chris Swyers 18-16. The most
points scored at the "A" level was in 2001 when Shawn Castellan
and Chris Pajda defeated Ed Kresconko and Tom Gardner 20-18.
Waszak / Waszak Win second "B" Level tournament for
2006
Tuesday June 28th, 12:25am
The second "B" Level event of the
2006 season was played on scorching sand with 19 teams competing for the title.
Temperatures were in the 90's with

The first "A" Level event of the
2006 season started
off with a slow start with only 5 teams making the season opener. There were
blue skies and sunshine however it was extremely windy and cold. The day started
with temperatures in the low 50's with wind gusts near 30 mph. Here are the results from the first "A"
Level tournament:

***Note: This is Jon Brady's 9th "A" win all time, putting him in
first place on that list. He has reached that mark having played just 20
"A" events. The win was Joe Tilert's 5th, placing him in a tie for 9th
on the all time list.

The first "B" Level event of the
2006 season started
off with 20 teams fighting to win the season opener. The weather never
cooperated until very late in the day with temperatures in the high 50's and

first. Covello / Vida's 3rd matches their best finish from 2005 and Lewis /
Steinmetz had their best performance as a team in the opener. Lewis finished 3rd
in the 2005 King of the Beach while Steinmetz captured the title.
