
Question: What level of players will be in these tournaments?
Answer: Each event will likely have a variety player abilities and experience. There is no limit to the
level of experience or quality of play for each player. These tournaments, while competitive were created for EVERYONE to enjoy.
The only restriction would be that two "A" level players cannot form a team in a "B" level tournament.
Question: Will the tournament format be Pool Play or Double
Elimination?
Answer: Tournaments will be played using a variety of formats.
Formats could include pool play, double elimination, single elimination or any
combination there of. The format will be determined by the number of teams
entered in an event. Generally, if there are 12 or fewer teams, the format will
be pool play with a single or possibly double elimination playoff bracket. If
there are 13 or more teams, the format will be double elimination. The
tournament director reserves the right to institute the format of the event
regardless of what is stated above, however past precedent is rarely deviated
from.
Question: Is this for men only?
Answer: No. Women are certainly allowed and encouraged to participate.
Question: Who do I write out payment to?
Answer: Payment should be written out to Donald Zanelotti,
however cash the day of the event is the most common form of transaction.
Question: Where do I mail payment?
Answer: If you choose to pay in advance, payment should be mailed to the following address:

Question: What prizes will be offered per event?
Answer: Yes, prizes as well as trophies will
be awarded for each event. Prizes will be determined based on player
turnout. Until we have a strong understanding how many players are committed
for a given event, we can allocate funds towards prizes.
Question: Will there be prizes for player year end ranking leaders?
Answer: Yes, prizes will be awarded for both the series champion as well as the season ending points
leader as determined by the player rankings.
Question: If I register for an event, and my
partner doesn't show up, will I have to forfeit?
Answer: Yes, unless you can obtain a partner before the event is scripted out or before play has begun.
Question: Does the defending champion have the right to defend their title, even if they do not qualify for King of the Beach?
Answer: Yes, regardless if the defending King of the Beach doesn't play all
season, they automatically receive a berth in the King of the Beach event.
Question: What criteria is used when determining if a player is Open,
"A" or "B" rated?
Answer: Ratings are not assigned, they are earned. Presently, there are only two
levels of play: Open "A" Level and "B" Level, however there
are three levels of player classifications: Open Level, "A"
Level and "B" Level.
The only restrictions in the entire series are that two Open
Level players cannot form a team in a "B" Level event, although
players of that caliber are welcome and encouraged in picking up partners that
are either at the "A" or "B"
levels. Also, two "B" level players cannot form a team
in an Open level event, although they too are encouraged to team up with "A"
or Open level partners for this series. Exemptions or entry into
an event within either series is ultimately left to the tournament directors
discretion.
An Open level player is defined as possessing one of the following:
- An all time pure rating of 60% based on
tournament finishes in "A" Open Level events along with a minimum
of 50% win/loss percentage in game play.
- "A" Level Tournament Win
- A pure rating of 60% based on tournament
finishes in "A" Open Level events along with a minimum of 50%
win/loss percentage in game play from the previous season.
- An all time pure rating of 85% based on
tournament finishes in "B" Level events along with a minimum of
70% win/loss percentage in game play.
- More than two "B" Level Tournament
Wins
- A pure rating of 85% based on tournament
finishes in "B" Level events along with a minimum of 70% win/loss
percentage in game play from the previous season.
An "A" level player is defined a player that has earned the same
distinction as an Open level player, however because of the caliber of play,
they are allowed to compete in "B" level events.
"B" level players have yet to earn the same distinction as
"A" level players and because of the caliber of play, are restricted
in competing with another player of "B" status in Open level events.
